Like many writers, I can procrastinate at an almost-professional level. This writing challenge series for example! I had this idea weeks ago, but I’ve only just now managed to get the first video and quick PDFs thrown together.
Why did it take so long? Surely if I think it’s valuable, I should have jumped onto it and gotten something out there immediately?!
Have you had similar thoughts about your own work? Your book idea for instance?
Sometimes procrastination is a result of over-thinking things. Or perfectionism. Or just honestly being spread thin with a mile-long To Do list.
But it can also be as a result of treasuring a thought (c’mon, who hasn’t thought of one day writing a book?) and being fearful of taking the wrong first step. And if
not yet writing your first book falls into this category, I want to let you off the hook.
It’s okay to be overwhelmed. It’s okay to have big dreams about your book. And it’s even okay to not really know what the hell you’re doing!
Hopefully, after watching this short vid and printing off the PDF that works best for you, you’ll have just the little nudge you need to get you working on your dream. Remember, it’s about progress, not perfection…as you can see below, I like to practice what I preach 😉
