From the first time I heard a writerly retreat horror story, I knew I wanted to do something to level things out…
The story went something like this: writer goes on a retreat/workshop/seminar and returns home feeling dejected and ashamed of their writing. And then they STOP writing. What?!
Thankfully, there are plenty of retreats out there that don’t foster such horrible feelings of doubt, but I knew I still wanted to do everything I could to offer as many writers as possible the kind of quiet, supportive and creative space that would allow them to reach real writerly flow.
Earlier this year, my beautiful biz partner in Storyteller Ink, Adrea Peters and I ran a retreat in Kauai. It was amazing (and we will certainly do it again), but one thing we both knew – we needed to offer more options!
